TWICKENHAM MRC'S 7MM LAYOUT - ADDISON ROAD

#1

Post by TEAMYAKIMA »

This thread will focus on Twickenham MRC's 7mm layout, ADDISON ROAD, an historically accurate model of what we now know as KENSINGTON OLYMPIA.

Construction began in about 2005 and the layout is now 99% complete and the group building it are moving from the construction stage to the exhibition stage.

Would YOU like to be part of the team? You don't have to model in 7mm! Several of the existing team model in other scales at home but enjoy the opportunity to venture into O gauge in the club.

You can see ADDISON ROAD this weekend as it is 'attending' a virtual model railway exhibition on July 4th/5th. For those of you who don't know about virtual exhibitions, they are only open for limited times, just like a real exhibition. The show is open 9am to 5pm on Saturday July 4th and 10am to 4pm on Sunday July 5th. Full details here ...

Here is a photo of the layout showing the kitbuilt 7mm Oerlicon EMU on its way to EARLS COURT. These 'kits' were made specially for the layout by one of the team and may still be available if anyone is interested. Photo by Tony Wright, courtesy of BRM magazine.
