Class 42 warship sticky motor
Hi guys I have a problem with the motor,it's started to run slower and draw more amps on DCC. I tried it on 12 volt and got a cloud of black smoke come out then it ran fine. Went back to DCC ran ok the stopped. Motor seem stuck in 1place when moved a little starts then stick again!!!. Is a new motor required? should I send it in for repair? or can I fix it myself?

It is not uncommon for odd scraps of scenic material to get caught in the gears - that will cause the symptoms you describe.
Start with a good examination and clean.

Well I striped it all down and it's definitely the motor,it runs in one direction normally but the other direction a lot slower. On another note I broke the motor connection from the cirkit board
