Just had an email to say Rails will no longer be selling Hornby products once the current stocks are sold out.

I got the email too - it's not the end of the world - plenty of other suppliers out there.

Didn’t Hattons go through this last year. Doesn’t affect me.

I think (bank balance hopes!) that I have spent enough now on locos and I have a healthy set of rolling stock so won't impact on me too much, although as a customer that has spent a considerable amount this year I'd have hoped I would get the e-mail. I haven't had it just yet!

The email may have been sent out, initially, to those who subscribe to the Rails Newsletter. I, and I know WTD does, get several emails a week with special offers. BB

I have just had an email from Model Railways Direct in Bristol, explaining how easy it is to "pre-order" from them! No mention of any problems elsewhere.

Derails have posted out a newsletter saying they will be upping their Hornby orders. I do not really get the pre-order system unless its for an item that is really limited in supply, particularly on a new model that is of unknown accuracy etc.

Obviously only those retailers who have "upset" Hornby are being banned! Hattons produced their own range of locos v Hornby e.g. Class 66. Others are under selling Hornby on price.
To be honest Hornby and other manufacturers need to get real and think about how their longer term sales will suffer by banning retailers. Many of these larger so called internet "Box shifters" sell many hundreds of manufactures products and only the manufacturer will suffer in the end! :o

Not really too much of a problem........Hattons will get all the Hornby orders and Rails will get all the Bachmann orders, presumably at the usual discounted prices..........HB
