About to purchase a Hornby Peckett as new ones have arrived at my local model shop. Chap in there tells me they are good runners even over insulfrog points due to their fly wheel. Has anyone else got experience of this model?

Mine works OK, I am DC, so cannot comment on DCC I am afraid. The Hattons Barclay is a good one too.

I do not own one of these but have seen one running on my lay out, they looks gorgeous and run very well indeed.

I have the Huntley & Palmer one with three wagons on pre-order from Hornby (not sure why! One for the collection?). It's not due to arrive until May 2019, which suits me. I watched on YouTube last night a Peckett that had sound fitted, it was good, the speaker was mounted in/on a wagon, a bit like a shunters wagon. No idea of cost.

I have one and it runs very well. I have added a permanently attached wagon with pickups, but that was really a case of belt and braces, crossed points OK before it was added.
