Hello from Derbyshire

#1

Post by JimRead »

I an old geezer who likes to make micro layouts to shunt a few wagons.
I enjoy scratch building, making my own track and points, simple wagons, vans and locos from card, low relief back scenes from photographs and I make my own DC controllers from the individual components.

Cheers - Jim

Are you THE Jim Read, master of building fab locos from nothing more than card glue and string?! If you are, I’ve been following your work and absolutely love it. If you’re not THE Jim Read, welcome to the friendliest forum.

Sorry about ‘outing’ you last night Jim it’s just that I get excited when meeting a celebrity! I once met Tommy Cooper in an off-licence in Wakefield and I said to him, “Oy mister, are you Tommy Cooper?” and he said, “No, now p**s off.” Not like that, but just like that. Strange, but when you’re 7 and meet a comedian you expect them to tell a joke. It was definitely him, although he wasn’t wearing a fez so I might have been wrong. It obviously scarred me as I’m now 57 and a half and still remember it to this day. Look forward to seeing your micro-layout build and even pinching some ideas from you!

Welcome to the forum. I'll look you up on YouTube :-) {{EDIT: I tried and failed, maybe someone can post a link!))
I'm looking forward to seeing the efforts of a celebrity on here alongside all the other infamous (not a typing error!) members posting.
