Good morning All and a Happy New Year (bit late I know!!)

May seem an odd question for this Forum, but I am canvassing opinion. Does anyone have an Air Fryer and are they any good?

John

Thank you "yelrow". It is indeed to fry chips ect. I have a oil fryer that stinks the kitchen out and leaves a sticky mess everywhere and thought the Air variety might be a better bet.

Haven't seen any Fish & Chip shops using air fryers as yet?
Best home cooked chips are oven chips cooked from frozen in a deep fat fryer. They are gorgeous! ;)

While we don't own an air fryer our friends purchased a Ninja air fryer (not sure which model?) It works very well but should be supplied with ear defenders, as the noise it makes is ridiculous! :o

SEB Actifry, may be Tefal in uk. Would not be without it. Beats Oven chips any day.

Tried an air fryer essentially to produce healthier chips. Very, very noisy [large fan] and the fryer had to be placed on a heatproof surface. The element seemed in this one, Tower brand, to be about three times the size of that in a kettle. On top of all that the end result was soft chips. Gave it to a relative. Come to think of it we didn’t get a Christmas card from them this year. R-

Sorry Roger but can you please explain the meaning of "healthier chips", I don’t understand the concept. :)

A relative has recently bought one, a Ninja I think. She thinks it is fantastic and it allegedly makes the best roast potatoes ever.
