Thanks Chops. How do you go about choosing the music?

In this case, I stumbled over it while watching the Netflix series, quite good actually, "Imposters." It had an edgy, out of control feel to it that
mirrors some of the anxiety surrounding the new regime. Generally speaking, I like folk music, and have used a couple of Russian pieces as well.
Music, in the general, has a visceral quality, so in one sense one can frame up a video with pretty much anything, and the piece sets the tone.
I used an Italian Renaissance Folk Dance that had a lovely sort of reedy sound, that made me feel of ancient technologies being used to create
new things, much as the Rocket, which was portrayed, used ancient technologies to do something entirely new.

Speaking of out of control, getting that old Triang Electra to sit up and bark was a trick. It required reversing it, and its train around several times before I got her to track and move with any dependability. I had to remind myself this lovely old piece was not made to do much more than circle the track. Slow, thoughtful movement is not her strong suite, so I was rather pleased when I got her to move reliably enough to video.

I have a very dull job that allows me to spend inordinate amounts of time on the Internet, and peruse to my heart's content. Thanks for asking.

I enjoy the music as much as the trains.

Hi Chops
That track gave me back a memory.
Spent many a night shift working on film rushes top and tailing them ready for printingfor the morning and the guys in the department liked music playing all night. Each of us in the department could have there own choice of music in turn so you would have Dire Straights for an hour then Pink Floyed then some Country music and so on.
One guy decided to play Ca Plane Por Moi over and over and over which sent us all completely nuts.

That is funny, I never heard this 1977 tune until late last week. Dire Straits and Pink Floyd: magnifacique. As per usual I scrambled my Spanish with my French. It is, correctly, Ca Plane Pour Moi. The Life for Me.

Fanx, Chops, for helping me "discover" this song after so many years. I heard it for the first time ever on your video. Lord only knows what direction I must have been listening in when it came out in 1977. It did, after all, get to no. 8 in the UK charts. Found a nice clean copy on ebay for a coupla euros and the record player's been doing overtime. According to Wikipedia, the title means, "Everything's going well for me." A good caption for your EM2 video.

Cheers,
Artur
