I've been thinking about this for a while, and finally after selling off my other kidney, she arrived in the mail last wee. Splendid model, and the mech would appear to be about Gold Standard, what with the flywheel and all. Had enough energy to set her up for a photo op, but will have to stave off running her in until tomorrow. This night shift has me flogged. Anyways, it is worth noting that the Dapol guarantee is about the sturdiest I have yet seen (although I doubt I shall have use for it).

I do like this loco. I've got the Lima 00 version and added DCC and lights -runs very well using a "there and back"(can't recall proper name at the moment!) module.

This 0 gauge version does look the business though.

I think Sam is being a little harsh. Considering the cost of a basic 040 I think this is reasonable value for a really nice and interesting model.
