Hi everyone,
I have a fifty year old Wrenn A4 Mallard seems the motor is knackered have tested it and it appears to be open circuit from the windings to the commutator, anyone know where I can get a new or re-conditioned one or this one repaired ?
Usual searches on ebay and the like unsuccesfull.
Thanks,
John.

They often appear on eBay. Perhaps you are using the wrong search term? "Hornby Dublo spares" is a good one to use, then its just scrolling through to find what you need.
It's also possible that the magnet is the issue rather than the armature itself. A simple test with a steel screwdriver will indicate if it has loss power. Some people swear by using neo magnets which are a lot cheaper than getting an armature rewound!
