Sad to hear Charlie Watts passed away today, a great jazz drummer.
Agree and seems to be quite under reported.

Sad news indeed. I never saw the Rolling Stones perform, but did see them signing a few autographs outside the Ready,Steady,Go studio in Kingsway, London one lunchtime in 1963 when they were a new group - I think on that evening show they were well down the pecking order of groups performing.

Yes, hope he is in a better place. The Stones, along with many great British artists, and I don't mean just the Beatles, rewrote modern music. He will be missed.
In that vein, some of the "B" side stuff by Dire Straights really swept me. "Lions," "Wild West End," "In the Gallery," who dreams of writing this stuff? I never really caught "Beatle Fever," but I found the individual Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney, recording separately, most engaging.
Reading a bit of Ringo's bio was quite illuminating, in that he suffered childhood illness that would have crushed most people.
