Here is an article many may have missed.

It's always a shame when collections are broken up, but some good bargains can be had. I expect many of these will be bought up by dealers and ebay sellers but a few may be at a price that members can afford and they've been looking for.

That's a tremendous collection - I scrolled through all the Lots up for auction. It says it will be a "live" auction - if it's streamed on Youtube (as many car auctions are) it might be worth watching. Not sure how much an auction such as this will benefit dealers? Dealers need to make a profit, so an item needs to be bought for as little as possible - there are some fairly high "guide" prices listed.

How much will yours fetch? (Not a serious question!).

I've no idea Ian. I was a collector originally before Wykeham was built, and I have been collecting since about 2000 - so about twenty years. A very large number of my collection have never been run and the box was only opened to check the loco was inside. I never bought as investments, although some loco's now seem to fetch on the auction site far more than I paid. My wife has said "when your gone" what do we do with all this "stuff  "?
Best bet would be to contact one of the major names that buy "collections". Most of my "stuff" is in mint condition including the boxes. I'm sure many on the forum are in similar positions? Barry

I have suggested that somebody either contact the local model railway club or one of the major names. If they get a few quid it is better than putting it in a skip.

good stuff, get it on the open market who care if dealers get it at least the public can have their chance.
