Diorama on a plinth

#1

Post by Kevin »

Hi this is going to be a diorama build with a difference. I will be using a model plinth to build my diorama on.
The size of the plinth is 150mm x 100mm. The diorama theme will be of a single siding which will have one cement wagon an will be modelled around era5.
The diorama will also have sections where it will be grassed with a selection of different lineside shrubs.
I hope it sounds good.

It sounds an interesting project. Photos, lots of them, on the way would be appreciated.

Morning I have added a couple of progress pictures. The track is now laid and weathered up and ballast is laid.
The little scenic areas down each side of the track are progressing nicely and a small pool has been added to make it a little more interesting.
The fence was made by using match sticks as posts and wood coffee stirrers for the horizontal planks.

Very nice - if just slightly alarmingly tidy! :D R-
Young at heart. Slightly older in other parts.

Hi Roger thanks for your comments, I'm certain it will look more grubby once the ballast is laid and weathered along with the foliage.

Looks good. Quite like the effect on the sleepers.

Thanks the sleepers are first painted with Vallejo black/brown and then dry brushed with white so it gives that old worn look.

Today progress has been steady. I have drilled a good to accept the lamp and the decision is to not have it working.
I need to finish off adding kitchen roll with pva to the area which will be grassed in front of the lamp and fence. I have uploaded a picture of my diorama in progress. :D
