I might as well be asking for a live unicorn, but I've got lucky, here, on other obscure pieces. Name your price. Of course, I'd pay the international shipping. Or Class anything in OO in Police Livery. Not entirely clear if these were ever commercially produced, Google searches turn up random, vague
references.

Hattons have a Bachmann class 47 in police livery £146, it's a preowend
Kernow model rail centre limited edition.
If you look in their diesel pages it's on page 2.

Dang! I didn't expect to hear back so soon. Thought I was quark hunting. Thank you so much! I am trying to see if I can get one of the Lima's. In prior experience I've had surprising problems with cracked gears, on Lima. Any insight into this?

One and done. Thank you, Gentlemen! I've been wanting one for years, ever since I saw this ad:

https://youtu.be/iN7naLLeB0A

One was selling 85 BPS, the other 199 BPS, and the third was a Bachmann (which I ignored). Tried to wrastle the 85 BPS one down a few quid, but he held firm. Decided 10 quid wasn't going to kill me, and I had already decided to spend silly money having thinned down my North American herd considerably, to focus on British OO. The international shipping charges were no joke; I'd rather wished I'd never been to the UK, so I'd still be pottering around in cheap North American goods, and never the wiser.

I still chuckle every time I see this ad. There is a wry quality of British humor that is unlike any other.

Didn't Hornby do a class 37? (It may have been Lima but I had the inpression that I have seen a Hornby 37 in Police livery somewhere as it had the typical body riding high on the bogies. It may have possibly been a repaint).

From a prototypical view point, did these really exist and if so what on earth did the police use them for?

The loco really existed, not sure for how long. The police used them when they were on point duty and to keep track of criminals.

I thought they had bikes and panda cars for that.

It WAS a serious question though. Locos and rolling stock adorned with commercial names and logos are generally used in association with that business so the Police one baffles me?
