This gives me an ideal opportunity to share some of the projects regarding my layout (Llwyndrissi Halt) along with its stock (Hence the Waggon & Carriage Works which also involves locos, track, signalling etc.

Loco No.1 "Ruthy".
Smallbrook studio Clio body kit on a Triang chassis using modern Hornby 0-4-0 running gear (Wheels, motor & gears etc). Took quite some work to prepare both the chassis and body to fit each other. The loco has the addition of scratchbuilt coal bunkers. The name plates, number plates and the couplings are also home made.

Loco No.2 "Clöé". This lovely loco started life as a Hornby Percy and with the help of a Smallbrook Studio Hera kit along with a few little modifications like extra weight and moving the safety valves to a safer position (As I kept breaking them where they were) . I've not yet converted this one to central buffer couplings. The model has the usual home made name and number plates made by using thin aluminium from a fizzy drinks can and feeding it through an old label printing tool.
While the loco is not finished yet, there's not a lot to do.

Loco No.3 "Marmite". A simple scratchbuild using a Hornby " Smokey Joe" style saddle tank as a donor loco. Its not quite finished yet but it is nearly ready.

And here's loco No.4. "VICTOR". Its a work in progress... Is a Smallbrook Studios Cadera body kit and a lot of effort has been made to make it fit aa shortened Lima class 09 chassis. The body has also had its steps reworked to fit my railways restrictive loading gauge.

Coaches... I've yet to decide a number scheme for them. This ones a total scratchbuild from tea stirers, lollypopsticks, four matchsticks and a few lengths of wooden dowel. It runs on old Romford 10.5mm wheels which use cuts of Peco rail which have been drilled with a V formation to use as home made pinpoint axle retainers. Doors are wire mesh offcuts and a paperclip was used for the bar across the windows. Home made central buffers are fitted though I've yet to make the drop loops for them.

This is a much modified and reduced version of the Faller 4 wheeled 0 gauge coach. It is shorter, thinner and lower then it was, and runs on a scratchbuilt monocoque type chassis (In other words the chassis parts are built onto the body rather then the body and chassis being seperate parts). It is not quite finished yet as it needs buffer couplings to be fitted, but it runs well with Romford 10.5 wheels and brass bearings.

I have the odd few more coaches here and there, but how about a few waggons? Rusty tin bodies with Triang bogies as chassis along with old Romford 10.5mm wheel conversions retaining the Triang axles.

A Smallbrook Studio kit with homecast axleboxes assemblies rather then buying a chassis and uses Romford 10.5mm wheels...

Wooden waggons made from model (Or toy?) farmyard boxes. Also shows how the couplings work. With careful disassembly, I can make 12 waggons for each packet of boxes. The chassis frames are simple home cast resin parts. Some waggons are on Romford 10.5mm wheels. Some are on other makes of small wheels (Mostly plastic wheels with metal axles) and I use brass top hat bearings when I can.
