Telegraph poles

Does anyone know how far apart telegraph poles are along the track? I was just doing some planing and wondered how many i would need.

On BR they were approx 60-65 yds apart, but the actual distance can vary on location.

I found that a scale 65 yards can look wrong on a layout. You will be best to space them so they look right.

On my web page linked, I recommend for OO around 400-450mm apart or less. :D

Thank you for that information i now know how many i need, next question is on the n gauge shelflayout i have about 20 feet of twin track open countryside to put scenery on, I'm looking for ideas for lineside features to fill this length other than just trees and bushes etc. Anyone got anything intresting thoughts.
