As an old fogie I am in the process of selling all of my camera stuff. My aim is to (mainly down to lack of space) get a Kato N gauge set. I would like a steam train version, at least for now but not sure as to a good option. Seen a set (10-032 JR D51 Steam Locomotive Starter Set, no idea what 10-032 means). What I am really trying to do is re live my childhood but without the Hornby trains. I realise that Hornby have a much greater range but again, lack of space. Anyway, I will have loads of questions in the near future, a lot regarding sound on DCC trains etc. Any advice would be very welcome.

I believe the the number of "Brians" allowed in a single forum has reached it's zenith in this one. This is particularly noticeable as two are moderators, one also being the owner! To this end may I suggest a ban on all future Brians and perhaps an annual cull of non-contributing Brians?

My particular issue is that due to the nature of the internet no one knows what everyone else looks like, apart from a few small groups that have made the effort to join up outside of the "cloud". Unfortunately the avatars we choose are of little help.

To assist me I have formed a mental picture of the regular contributors, but I only ever see one Brian in my mind and that is of course "Foggy" from Last of the Summer Wine played by the wonderful late Brian Wilde.

May I take this opportunity in being one of the first to wish you all a very Happy and Prosperous 2022.
