Bachmann Class 20 Decoder

#1

Post by C37 »

Have just bought one of the new Bachmann Class 20 locomotives.

The recommended decoder is a Plux22 No. 36-570 retailing at nearly £30 plus p&p.

Is there a more affordable alternative available?

There is always the LaisDCC option? I do not know if this is 100% compatible, but worth contacting the seller.

I have never had much luck with LaisDCC decoders (though plenty others have) and choose Zimo whenever possible, but considering the difference in price I think I might take the risk on this occasion.

How about a Zimo decoder for £20. Much better than Lais plus you'll have full manufacturer's warranty from an approved retailer such as here at Coastal DCC

Interestingly the Bachmann decoder is made by Zimo.
