Very quiet on here today.
Guess it's too hot in the railway rooms for most of us :!:

I had an aircon unit running in the shed yesterday - bearable and got some reorganisation done.
Today? Not a chance.
It’s a fraction under 37c in the shade but indoors we are at 25c - doors and windows closed, curtains drawn and a couple of fans running. I did freeze a large milk bottle of water and stood it in front of one fan - made a big difference.

39 here, going higher tomorrow. We have all windows shuttered, and. Honeywell air condition unit quietly running. Train room 25, in here 20. Fortunately we are high up, and will be able to sit out in shade later, as wind gusting nicely.

I was out there testing this morning until the sun came round and I had to bail. It was OK at first with a fan running.
Garden is now 37, conservatory 31 with the shades down, the roof vent cracked open and the doors closed, indoors is a pleasant 26 with fans running.
The problem is getting the dogs across the hot decking when they need the loo, but they have been good, straight out, quick pee and back in again within a couple of minutes.
I shall continue with trains again tomorrow morning ahead of the sun.

Quiet as I have been making progress on sorting out sheds so I can use one for trains. This one I think!

18th July 1901 the temperature in Manchester was 35 degrees Centigrade.
No mention of Global Warming etc. Just a good drying day.

Choc ice anyone?

Windows open, curtains partially drawn, no fans running at the moment (2.30pm) - indoors and outdoors under a sun shade - acceptable.
Just cancelled my attendance at a drinks reception in Threadneedle St. tomorrow - the thought of travelling to London by train and the Covid rate sky high at the moment - I can have a drink at home :)

Just as we hit 38.3c in the shade, I have dressed all in black and am heading off to work.

Just took the dog for a short walk through the woods. Felt like Perth WA.
