Acceleration rate

#1

Post by Carl L »

Apologies if this has been covered before.

Re NCE Power Cab DCC control.

Having recently chipped and programmed a new addition it is quiet obvious that the engine’s pick up (acceleration rate) is gradual, i.e level 1 - just starts to move, level 2 - a touch more momentum, etc, etc. Quite natural.

I have other engines when the pick up is far from this, more like a sprinter out of the blocks. Have I set something incorrectly on these engines? Is there a setting I can change to pick up more like the new addition? Reading the manual I’m not sure I’ve found the answer.

Thank you in anticipation.

CV3 sets the accel rate in any decoder.A low number is 0-max in zero time. A high number is 0-max in the time it takes to boil a kettle.
Set a happy medium for each loco and its rake.
Likewise CV4 sets the deccel rate.
