Detail pack glue?

Hi all,

Just received my new Accurascale class 92 in Rfd livery, and have to say it is immense. Had a run in on my rolling road but yet to test on the bits of partially built layout yet.

Question is, what is the safest way without damaging the bodywork to apply the additional details such as etched nameplate and BR logo please?

Thanks in advance

I have two favoured ways of attaching etched nameplates. The first is to use very thin double sided tape (Hobbycraft are a good source). Apply the tape to the back of the plate then trim it to size with a very sharp blade. The downside is that you really only get one shot at putting it on the loco so use a small piece of masking tape as a guide to the location.
The second is to use Glue n Glaze. A couple of very small drops on the reverse of the plate will do. Any excess can be wiped off with a damp cotton bud and it dries clear without affecting the paint.
I use the same glue for buffer beam details.

I have used clear varnish the same finish as the loco, gloss, satin or matt.

I have used PVA for etched nameplates - it works well and any excess is easily removed.

I have also used a Pritt stick for nameplates - very forgiving and any excess is easily wiped away.
