I am making a Parkside lead truck. What should I use to prep it for painting? What paint should I use?

Thank you

I paint my wagons all over with Humbrol grey primer. I then apply the appropriate colour on top. I don’t worry about getting a beautiful finish.

Depends on what the final colour is going to be. Some colours may not be ‘strong’ enough to cover grey so consider Halfords white primer. Red oxide primer also has its uses, again, depending on the top coat.

Covers OK when you slosh it on with a brush Steve. I never spray anything. :D

I do agree about different coloured primers. Most of my wagons are pretty dark.

Have to say that it made me smile. 😀

I never paint anything, brush or spray. I know a professional. 😀

I am talking about wagons not locos.

When I painted locos it was a new tin of paint, new brush and hours of work.
