Stripping very thin wire

I am trying to expose some very very thin wire from a light placed above my engine shed. I cannot use my wire strippers as they just cut through the plastic sheath and the wire. Anyone know how I can strip the outer covering to leave the wire exposed so that it can be soldered? Any tips would be gratefully received.

If it is very thin I have used my finger nails or a thin sharp blade.

Yep, finger nails or teeth, or both at the same time.

I have used teeth but wasn’t sure if BM had any so thought it best not to mention them.

I scrape the sheathing away on one side with a sharp blade. Once the wire is exposed you can manoeuvre it out of the remaining plastic which can be trimmed off.

Thanks for your replies - looks like some care and patience will be required.
WTD - teeth yes, hair unfortunately no!

You’ll be OK then.

I have a variety of wire strippers but the best I have found for very thin wires is this type

I used teeth on some wire - unfortunately the sheath was stronger than my teeth!
I recommend against using teeth and vote for wire strippers very carefully, nails, or a sharp blade very carefully.

How about somebody else’s teeth.
