Since my illness and restricted motobility, i have been using RM collect your parcels offer, its cheaper than going to a PO and they print your labels all for free. Amazing, dont know how long it will last for. 48HR Tracked is only £2-85 for a small parcel. Well done RM.

I think this is a great idea if you have a heavy parcel to send or can't leave the house for health or other reasons. It takes me approx. 15 mins to walk to my local P.O. and, except for the heavy parcel scenario, I always choose to use this method. Similarly if I need to shop for a few small items I'd rather walk than take the car. If I didn't I might never leave the house and will become heavier, rounder and generally even more unfit than I already am.

Sounds like good idea but wonder what the post offices think of it they will be loosing business.

Post Office seems to have plenty to do acting on behalf of the 'non' high street banks.

I dont know if there is a limit to the numbers, i had 15 collected last week and 5 this monday by my usual postman when he delivers my post Simples

So far every parcel has been delivered spot on time. I expect a charge to appear soon But it would still be worth it, if not to much.

I’ve used the parcel collect service many times since it started, it is a godsend when I can’t go to an actual post office due to working when the post office is open.

My local post office used to have extended opening hours to 20:00 on a Thursday, that has gone so I had no choice but to send everything on a Saturday morning - which wasn’t always guaranteed to be collected on the Saturday so an express delivery option is a waste of money!

On one occasion I’ve had to place the parcel in a safe location outside when my mrs wasn’t home for the pick up, we are fortunate to have a good local postman who can intercept and store incoming parcels responsibly.

In my opinion it feels the post office branches are in managed decline, which isn’t ideal for those who aren’t IT savvy or who prefer to send things personally. It is a shame because the men and women who are out delivering and collecting do a sterling job, I certainly have more faith in them than I do in my local Amazon or DPD goons. one of which doesn’t even knock the door any more and lobs the parcel round the back. When I challenged this charming individual they said we took too long to answer the door and he didn’t have time .

I hope he got his knuckles rapped when he left my foodstuff parcel out in the rain and it spoiled, and I had to get a refund blaming his blatant negligence with photo evidence, the brain dead half-wit. It actually puts me off ordering if I know in advance that courier will be responsible for the delivery.

I’m well aware the courier company put these time pressures on their self employed, pittance-paid couriers. It is all part of an acceptance of crap service by the public because it’s cheaper and the poor bloke in the middle is the one being squeezed.
