"or am I just stupid"

No. you may have missed something, or have just not have the knowledge on this, but that does not make you stupid. :)

Someone will be along soon who will be able to assist with your problem!

Hi
I assume you are able to operate the trains/locos via Train Controller? If so, IMO adding point operation should be similar to adding a loco with some minor differences.
If you haven't got your locos operating by Train Controller and a PC, then you will need some connection/interface between the PC and the DCC System (Digitrax). Whether this is via a USB cable or other cable or a special connector I'm not able to say, as I do not use PC operation. But there will have to be something connecting the two together. AFAIK Loconet connects the Digitrax system to the PC?

Is any of the information here of use? https://www.modelrailwayforum.co.uk/vie ... php?t=4810

I can turn my digitrax system on and off digitra turn pink when a loco enters a block. The computer is connected to the DCS 240 with a USB cable .
