The Peak Forest Tramway - Part 1. ....

Before we moved to Telford at the end of 2021, we walked part of the length of the Peak Forest Tramway. We had been intending to walk the full length before moving. It did not quite work out, but might do one day!

This is the first instalment of a look at the line. .....

In 2017 I took my bike to Buxworth and cycled along the route of the Tramway from Buxworth basin into Chapel en le Frith.
The tunnel under the road at the foot of the incline is in a council yard and was difficult to see and covered in road signs.
I struggled up the hill alongside the incllne to"Top of the plane" where several buildings which may be original exist.
The route is easy to walk from Buxworth basin to Chapel but a bit bumpy on a bike !
Regards, Colin.
