Dry fit. The instructions stated the the ends marked “X” must be all at the same end, I imagine they are cut that way round on the machine and therefore any discrepancy in measurement will be replicated in every piece. Confusingly there was one cross member with 3 X’s. You might be able to see it, second up from the bottom of the image. Anyway, on with glueing etc. R-

I agree with your decision to do a "dry-fit" first. What size is the board - 6x4?
