Thin ply for model buildings?

#1

Post by The Sligo Rover »

Has anybody used thin ply or balsa for a building and faced it with card or paper. I am hoping to construct a 600mm long warehouse building which might be stronger and more rigid if built in ply.
Any suggestion, ideas or thoughts please? Thanks.

Mod: Topic moved to the Scenery section where it should get more replies.

Just scrap ply and some Balsa on the roof, plenty around in skips or old furniture draws.

A lightweight alternative is to use 2mm or 3mm thick Foamboard for the basic structure. Easy to cut and bond together
Examples 2mm Foam Board
3mm Foam Board
Please note these are just examples and there are many other suppliers
