Murphy’s Law

#1

Post by Steve M »

I was going to use a shorter word in that title.

A couple of weeks ago, the NYMR announced Britannia as guest loco for half term in February and mentioned to the memsahib that I wouldn’t mind seeing that.
So, cashing in some brownie points, agreement was reached on a short break up North.
Days off from work were negotiated and an itinerary planned and this morning I booked three nights at the Scarborough Travelodge (I know how to live in style  ).

Then five minutes ago it was announced that the repairs to Britannia following a catastrophic failure the other year, are taking longer than expected. Britannia has been replaced by Royal Scot.

I’m still going though. :D

Hope so Brian. I plan a visit to the NRM, NYMR, TMC and Rails of Sheffield. And that still leaves me a spare day to play at being a tourist with a camera. I just need the weather to play fair.
And of course there are a few hostelries that serve ‘Black Sheep’. ;)

Nay lad. Best Yorkshire bitter made wit waters fresh from t’Dales. Best served wi’a slice of fruit cake and lump of Wensleydale cheese.
