I've been working on converting a few hornby tender drive locomotives to loco drive, up to now 2 done but still got 2 tender drive black 5s to convert and a tender drive A3.

Out of I think it's 9 or 10 locomotives I have changed an axle on 1 of my 3 black 5s in order to hold a gear in place better than a plain axle.

On the rest of the loco's which will be converted or upgraded using the Peter's Spares X03 / X04 replacement motors, 1 of the A3s which is a triang loco that I renumbered as 60093 has had a Peter's Spares X03 replacement motor upgrade fitted and now runs much better.

A3 number 60080 has been converted to locomotive using the X04 motor upgrade with A3 60071 soon to follow once more motors have been purchased. Both 60080 and 60071 will need a significant weight upgrade as they are very light on their wheels.

All 3 black 5s with running numbers 5112, 44932 & 5001 will be upgraded / converted once further motors have been purchased and extra weight added to increase traction ability.

Out of the remaining loco's awaiting conversion, I have a triang hornby 2-6-2 tank locomotive, I think it's either a standard class 3 or an Ivatt tank numbered 82013 as a renumbering from its original 82004 number, this loco will also receive an X04 upgrade.

The other loco's to be upgraded will be a GWR 22XX 0-6-0 that I numbered as 3209 which will also receive the same X04 upgrade motor and all 3 of my B12s of which 1 ( numbered 8501 ) will need a new upgraded chassis before the motor upgrade is fitted, the other 2 B12s numbers 8524 and 8544 will be upgraded once the motors arrive.

My other recent projects include upgrading the performance of my Lima 94XX 0-6-0 tank locomotive with the shunter locomotive motor upgrade kit aswell as a Lima class 117 which had its motor performance improved by fitting a bo-bo motor upgrade kit. Both of these are available from Diesel-trains.co.uk.

All in all I have been quite busy buying parts, waiting for them to arrive and then fitting them, if memory serves me well, there should be a picture of a Peter's Spares X04 motor replacement fitted to the chassis of 60080 on the latest acquisition thread, if not I will resubmit it.
