Shed heater?

I've been after a heater for the shed 16'x10' and due to the boiler packing up last week (thankfully we have a log burner!) SWMBO decided to get me one as an early xmas present. I saw right through her plan from the start especially when she suggested I tried it in one of the rooms in the house

Due to the electrics in the shed it needed to be a low wattage, at least below 3kw. It was one that I'd been looking at, but turned out to be rubbish so has been returned. I'm now contemplating an oil filled heater around the 2.5kw mark. Anyone have any experience of these or recommendations of heaters you've tried?

I have used an oil-filled heater from Argos for the last few years. Make sure you get a Thermostatically controlled one so you can turn it down and leave it on all the time. Keep the temperature in the shed above the dew point and condensation will never be an issue.
From memory, I think I only paid about £50.

I use a couple of oil filled thermostatic rads as background heat for my house in Cyprus and as frost protection in my UK log cabin to avoid over using the bottled gas. Efficient and reasonably economical. Recommended.

I also just saw a TV advert for tiny ceramic heaters that plug directly into a 3-pin socket. No idea what they are like.

Thanks guys for the confirmation. I think the oil filled heater is the way to go and the tip about the thermostat is a good one.

I noticed today that Lidl have an oil filled radiator coming into stock within the next week....... looked at ideal for the shed / Garage and at £29.99 it is probably worth a punt.

You can also get them with inbuilt timers.

ensuring the shed is insulated in someway will help reduce costs... try and find and plug any gaps with allow draughts..

I use an oil filled radiator in my man cave.

I leave it on setting 1 currently. That leaves the room at about 13 C. (I would leave it on the dew point / anti frost setting (Which I did for the last two winters and everything was fine), however, my cave had been invaded by the furry kind and it's set up home in there, so it needs to be warmer)

The furry kind have a habit of expropriating heaters.
