PL-50 Peco: Turnout (Points) Switch Module

#1

Post by SOOTYBRUM »

Hi, does anyone know of a more secure way of connecting wires to the :D PL-50 Peco: Turnout (Points) Switch Module?

Clamping the wires in the unit by depressing the spring-loaded green plunger doesn’t seem very secure as even though I only have 3 switches in the module one of the wires seems to occasionally pop out even though the actual holes for the wires are very small Any ideas? :)

Are you using the correct size wire ? Peco do a wiring harness for the turnout motor PL-34.

I am using Peco PL-11 side mounted turnout motors with Peco PL-38 wiring. Is there anything I can attach to the end of the wire to make them fit more snugly in the small holes on the Switch module? Thks

Strip about 8mm of insulation from the end of the wire, twist up bared end, and then fold back in half to about 4mm long. This will effectively give double thickness.
