Know nothing about these, bu need more light in my workshop. Went to shop, today, who said, led tubes fit into normal striplights, (eg), existing ones, but i may need to change the starter. My question, are they any brighter, as tubes are much dearer than those i have. thanks.

Just about to get a couple. My son has one in his garage, very bright. I’m going to change the whole thing as my tube lights are pretty old.

Think you can get soft light or daylight light.

Just read it again, you are going to change the light. Over here, they are suggesting just change the tubes. My workshop ones are 12 years old and would need 8 new tubes, expensive.

They do sell the LED tubes but I have read conflicting reports about whether they are a straight swap.

Where i went, they only sell the tubes, or whole, old style lights. All mine are doubles, and ord tube is about £6, whereas, led, is £18. Guess i could shop around.

They are not cheap but should last a long time with no flickering or buzzing. Going to give them a go.

Mine don’t flicker or buzz. Get covered in dust, as I took off diffusers, just not that bright. Probably my eyesight.

Just bought a couple of these for the house. They're LED in Warm White and are a complete replacement for our existing ones. Not only do they use a fraction of the electricity of the old ones, they start immediately, are only 1 inch/2.5cm depth and fit flush to the ceiling. Useful if you have limited headroom in a loft or shed …
