Really pleased with this as fed up with trying to shrink cabling shrink wrap using soldering iron! Cable could be longer but hey ho, does do a nice job. No connection to seller.

Thanks for the info as a harness will be needed in the near future, and I can see the need for one of them soon

I once bought an identical one that woodland scenics sold, it didn't last long and was quite expensive, then replaced it with a similar looking one at a fraction of the WS price and its given sterling service for a few years now.

Do you think this type of heat gun would work for shaping and smoothing polystyrene? I have seen chefs mini blow torches used but this sounds as though it would be safer.
The technique used is to cut the polystyrene using a hot wire cutter and then smooth the contours with the blow torch.

I have a hot air soldering station that allows adjustment of temp and airflow rate.
Set correctly it is ideal for heatshrinking.
Set incorrectly it melts the solder then blows all the smd components off your pcb.
Polystyrene - beware of setting it alight - remember those ceiling tiles popular decades ago. Noxious fumes.

My heat gun arrived today, 4 days after ordering it from China!
Sometimes British suppliers can't match that with or without free postage.

Sometimes things from far away places with strange sounding names do arrive very quickly.
