Bachmann 2019

#1

Post by Mike Parkes »

Bachmann have announced a stack of additions to their range which populate their new catalogue however as is norm hardly any are actually going to appear in 2019 - the ones which are schdeduled to do so are a pair of 47s and three 37s along with three mk1s. The actual models which will be released in 2019 date back many years with the arrival at last of the Class 24/1s and 90s, along with ROD 2-8-0s and J72s announced last year in terms of locos while new rolling stock is equally largely of some age in terms of when they were announced with the breakdown crane and the Warflat and Parrot bogie wagons being released. Also their are numerous reliveries which were largely announced last year or in 2017 but also include three Class 03s that were announced in 2016.

I don’t think they have a release date. Hattons and Rails certainly don’t. Unless anybody on here has inside info, which I very much doubt, I’m afraid you’ll just have to keep looking. Why not register your interest with Hattons and they will email you when they know. You don’t have to order it from them.

Sometime in 2020 at the earliest- Bachmann are expecting an engineering prototype shortly along the 94xx and Class 20/3. They really could do with going a year or two without announcing anything in order to catch up on previous announcements, its one thing new toolings being overdue but new liveries on existing models being over 3 years to appear is quite barking.

People are quick to moan about Hornby but compared to some they are extremely good.

Like I said register your interest in the loco with Hattons. You’ll get an email when they get a release date. :)

Hornby did themselves not favours for a couple of years by announcing the cancellation of a number of models no sooner than the catalogue had been published. The trade do not help with Bachmann, no doubt coming magazines will be full of adverts for new 2019 models which will not appear until 2020+.

Some people moan when deliveries are slow and I don’t doubt they are the same ones complaining about the long lead in times between announcements and launch.
And they will get the same response from me every time - it’s only a model loco, it will turn up when it’s ready, life goes on.
