Re: Stay alive capacitor- wiring

Thank you all, despite all the wonderful sorcery i might be favouring the clean track, wheels and pick ups. :o I used to be in that school of thought but HM7000 showed me the error of my ways with their plug in stay alives. I now fit them the every loco regardless of wheel arrangement - 72 and coun...

Re: Stay alive capacitor- wiring

This thread talks to this decoder I reckon - https://www.newrailwaymodellers.co.uk/Forums/viewtopic.php?t=56008 It notes the connector is a 7 pin only (no green wire to the plug) and that the purple and green wires are actually function outputs not stay alive connections, which if present would be r...

There is a country estate about 1/2 mile down the road, so likely they are from there. They pitch up every now and then and wind everyones dogs up.

Re: Spring ???

It is nicely made - hexagonal, all aluminium extrusions. Instructions are pretty good, but due to many captive bolts, you have to follow the build sequence to the letter, or find yourself taking some of it to bits to install the missed bolts. I might post a picture when its done. Edit: - job done . ...

Re: Homebase

Our town centre is dying. Homebase went in favour of the Range. The banks are closing with talk of the post office going as well. All we have are charity shops, vape shops, phone shops, hairdressers up the ying-yang, tat parlours and coffee shops with estate agents as back stop. The local council do...

Re: Lighting accessories for platforms etc

Strips of header pins/sockets are much cheaper. If using copper tape as your lighting bus then solder the socket to the tape and the pins part to your lights. Tape can be topside the board and painted over if not hidden by platforms or buildings.

Re: Dcc Bus resister

The case for a split bus was 2 fold: first if a derail say by a wrongly set point occurred the point could be reset, the track restored and away you go; second there have been reports of track bus spikes damaging some acc decoders. A decent workaround for a single command station is to run the track...
