Every day is a school day, I stand corrected (again)
Excellent resource @walkingthedog.
I would love to see the finished repaints when you have done them @OOLee (loco and coaches),

Re: Suitable carriages!
I am far from an expert, but GWR coaches with an LNER loco just doesn't sound right to me.
I know they pooled resources during the war so its possible I guess, and as always Rule 1 can apply
In my mind, some LMS 57ft staniers would been more likely have been used as a pooled resource ?

Re: Suitable carriages!
At a guess I would say teaks would be the most likely candidate for an LNER wartime Loco. The older ones, although not up to rivet counter accuracy, can be had quite cheap and made half respectable with a small amount of work, I did a few for my father a few years back using this method with Vallejo...

Re: Insurance
Don't worry about the company names too much, look to see who underwrites it and user reviews. The other thing to watch with cheaper quotes, is windscreen cover. It used to be standard but now a few cheaper quotes don't include it. Its a hefty bill for a new one on a lot of cars with sensors and cam...

Re: Laser cutters ?
Yes, that looks to be the case guys. I am just working out if its worth it, as there are a good few nice laser cut buildings already on ebay, I could get at least 20 of those before I start approaching the cost of the laser printer... The only downside to some is they use 3mm ply throughout .... whe...

Laser cutters ?
Was just recently toying with the idea of a laser cutter to use to make buildings etc. Something not terribly expensive, like a Creality 10W Falcon maybe ? My question is I know it can cut, and engrave, but can you do lines to a set depth (for instance for making a side of a building with relief for...

Re: WEST ORTON
this'll be interesting, I am guessing you will lay it down for FDM and put up with the layer lines ? I also have an FDM, for about 18 months now, so still learning the ways, (more so the cad drawing part where I use a very basic online program I can "nearly" get my head around) but have ma...
