Hello Richard, I think I must have had a brain fade earlier asking about that need for a switch. During the night it came to me where all complicated problems are solved.... thanks for the in put as it all helps to no end. This hobby sure has a steep learning curve but really enjoyable.

Re: Is this a Unifrog
Brian, with that set up would I need two switches, one for each direction then maybe an ON-OFF-ON style switch. I have seen a similar set up somewhere.

Re: Is this a Unifrog
Thank you Brian what a good idea. Dingo sounds a bit Aussie. Dingo is the name of a wild native dog over here. They don't have a great name but are part of this country.
Never ceased to be amazed at the ideas and knowledge of people involved in this hobby. Marvellous.

Re: Is this a Unifrog
Hello all, Did the modifications and set up a temporary test track and wired and set it up as per CharlieChadwicks videos (hreat videos) and same as the Peco site. At moderate speed the engine ran across the point pretty well enough but stalled at lower speeds. Not really worried as a polarity switc...

Is this a Unifrog
Hello All, I purchased this point along with several others. All other seem to be unifrog as ordered this one is the only left hand point all others were right hand. My question here is this one doesn’t look anything like the other lot. This one has hinged blades for starters whereas the others are ...

Re: Point springs
I decided on servos after reading Brian's article about the different options. Great article and very interesting. Thank you for the replies. I'll remove the spings as suggested. These servos sure are a neat little gadget and barely take up any space at all and can be installed almost anywhere. Dirk

Point springs
Hello All, Not sure where this question should have gone as it encompasses two sections electrical and points. Whats the general consensus about removing the springs from Peco points. I am going to be using servo motors for the switching side of things but haven't come across anything about leaving ...

Re: Soloniods and polarity switching.
Thanks again for the explanations. This hobby is a never ending learning exercise but I am loving it. Already thinking of expanding the layout and haven't got a train on the tracks yet. Its like a disease...
