High Power CDU (Capacitor Discharge Unit).

HI All I am in the process of building my new layout and will be using point motors for the very first time. I am using some Peco PL11 point motors and a few Rails of Sheffield point motors. In all I will have approximately 26 point motors. My question is, "Do I need to have a CDU for every sin...

Re: Bachmann Wickham Trolley

HI All Thank you for the replies to my query. I searched through the internet and found a couple of sites where people had completed this project. However, I think that this is well above my skills level ! So I will say thank you all again, and wonder no more about this little trolley. Cheers Guys J...

Bachmann Wickham Trolley

Hi All I was thinking of obtaining one of the above. However, my loco's are DCC, so I was wondering if anyone has successfully fitted a small decoder to one of these, and what the level of difficulty is. I am aware that there are few retailers who will fit these, for a price obviously, but am wonder...

Re: Prototype for everything dept. - Stephenson's Rocket 1829

REF> The Rocket.

When the old "Transport Museum" was at Clapham in London, before being moved to York, on a plinth outside was a large replica of Rocket.

I believe that this was taken up to York when the NRM first opened. :D

Older Lima Class 33

Hello All I have in my possession an older N Gauge Lima Class 33, (Circa late 70's early 80's). All my loco's are DCC, so I was wondering if this loco is capable, or even suitable, to be converted to DCC ? Has anyone successfully carried out something like this on an older N Gauge loco ? If so I wou...

Re: A Loose Wire

Robert & WTD I have touched the green wire to the tag on the trailing bogie and the loco refused to move. I have had a good look and I cannot see any other tags to which the green wire should be soldered to. One end of the green wire is indeed soldered to the brushes on one side with a smaller w...

Re: A Loose Wire

Robert

Thank you for that.

I will try it to see if it works.

I did wonder if that is where it should be, but was too worried to try it in case I burnt out the motor, or something.

Thank you

A Loose Wire

Hi All I have recently purchased a Lima Class 52, "Western Renown". I opened it up to give it a quick check and service, but saw that there is a green wire that is not connected at one end. See pictures.... Can anyone tell me what this wire is, where it should connect to and is it necessar...
