Thank you very much RogerB and WTD. I'm not very knowledgeable about locomotives and thought that a B17 was a Flying Fortress. Doh! ;)

Quite so WTD. I really wouldn't fancy trying to get a Flying Fortress through there, especially if it was all bombed up.

Wonderful layout. Could you post a track plan of your layout ? Thanks.

Hi Halsted,
I don't have a track plan. I made it up by trial and error using old track from the 1970s and some second hand stuff. Here's an aerial photo taken about 18 months ago when it was less covered in scenic features and, therefore, easier to comprehend. Written explanation to follow.

That’s the way I did my layout Ian. Much more rewarding.

You'll probably find that quite a few layouts develop like that, despite folk [like me] spending ages planning, thinking, prevaricating etc. R-

I knew what I wanted, loco sheds, turntable, goods yard etc. The only thing that had a set position was the turntable. I loosely laid two circuits and got some trains running in a few hours and then built it up from them.

Yup, exactly what I did, and then I changed it again...... and again...... and again. Well, you get the drift. R-
