Four Bridges

After an absence of some months, I am back on the scene. Spring and summer months see me leave the layout alone as the weather is generally nice so I spend my spare time outside. Oh, and I got married last month on the Greek island of Paxos

Today I am generally "house-keeping" in the rail room, tidying up, dusting, hoovering etc and have lit the log burner to take the chill out of the air.

Next will be to hoover and clean the track and do some track testing to see what problems have arisen over the last few months of inactivity.

The now Mrs 757 never really took that much interest in my hobby. Same with mowing the lawns with a ride on mower. For 2 years she said "I'm not getting on that thing" (mower) then one day I was a little under the weather but mentioned the grass needing cutting. One quick demo lesson later, I now can't get her off the damn thing !

Interestingly, since we got married (on my birthday ) she has started to take an interest in my hobby. The Great Model Railway Challenge (not my idea of model railways) sees Mrs 757 even record the series and she watches the program with me. Last night she even made a comment "Should have tested the track before doing the scenery"

Either she's become a closet model rail enthusiast or there is something she's building up to for further down the line (excuse the pun).

I have a Bachmann, Thompson BR Maroon Brake coach which has rather large couplings. I can see the bogie will unscrew but was wondering, can I buy a replacement bogie with the smaller Bachmann coupling ?
