From what I can see online I think so. I don’t know the rubberised horsehair product, perhaps it’s more versatile than scouring pads. R-

Yes you do, or trim with scissors to make random shapes.

Yes, Roger.
It comes in flat slabs - slice it into strips, pull it apart and spray it with grey/brown paint. Spray with adhesive (I use layering spray for static grass) then sprinkle scenic scatter onto it. Trim any loose bits with scissors.

My OCD insists I be accurate<G> So random is right.

Horsehair hedges need a careful trim with very good scissors when finished to get rid of any fly away tendencies at the edges.
