Yes I have, mind you it isn't for the fainthearted or short sighted as I discovered. The easiest method I finally settled on was to calculate the number of posts needed for any given stretch then drill the places for the posts at the correct distances then using pre-drilled posts thread them individually to each run of line, glue one end of each line in place so they don't just fall off in the threading process. Then once all have been threaded onto the multiple strands glue each post in its predetermined hole. Then draw each line of thread taught and using masking tape to hold the unglued end in place, apply a few drops of glue at strategic places on the tautened thread and posts - let set for a quarter of an hour - I used gel CA. Finally do a quick check to see that both ends of each strand is in place and fixed. Then using a pair of nail clippers I just snip the surplus line of the end and voila a fence.

Tell me about it - the first one I did I put the posts in first thinking that the pre-drilled holes in the posts would be easy to see. About 3 hours later with failing eyes, a disabled back (from bending over the layout) and air that had been turned blue it dawned on me that pre-threading was the way to go.
I purchased my fence posts via www.scalemodelscenery.co.uk. The fence posts are laser cut and pre-drilled and also comes with wire if you need it and enough in one kit to make 1 metre. i used wire from a cable i had which had 100 super fine strands of copper wire.Poduct code LX056-72

I never forget looking at a 7mm narrow gauge layout and the fencing caught my eye. Though it was slightly overscale it was very attractive as it had barbed wire with realistic barbs on it. I asked the guy who made it. He said that he did. He simply made little barbs one at a time. It was very effective.
Like the idea of fences made from matchsticks and fuse wire but agree that fuse wire is not around much these days. What I have done to substitute fuse wire is to strip old stranded cables and used that.
