Read and unread posts

am I doing something wrong,i read a post or topic but still seems to be unread? also can you delete read posts/ I cant see any option to do this?

When you have read a post the icon on the left changes from red to blue (depending on your theme). What makes you think this is not happening? AFAIK you cannot delete read posts belonging to other authors, only Moderators or Administrators can. R-

If you use the 'back' button on your browser the icon won't immediately change, you'll have to refresh. using the links on the page prevents this happening.

I use the ‘mark topics read’ link at top right as I exit the forum then I can see new stuff next time I visit.

I've been using the 'Quick Links' and 'New Posts & Unread Posts' buttons at the top by FAQ. Found it works well.
