The model lorry is a lovely tribute to Mr Thompson.
Thanks Puddles.
As a lad I seemed to be around road transport quite a lot. Drivers' of Companies would take me ( with my Aunt or Uncle's permission) to Hull or Liverpool (Hudson Ward Flour Miller's), then to the North East of England (Archbold's Storage & Distribution)
Then when I started working I moved to the North East of England and met John Thompson. At weekends, over a glass of whisky (or two) the stories of his road transport days would be told.
As an aside he told me he always wanted to fly in a aeroplane, but never had a chance. I won a ticket for a trip on Concorde. Aeroplanes are not my thing. His memory of the trip remains forever.
