At an exhibition some time ago there was a display of Triang TT equipment which I remembered from years ago but never owned any.
I liked the look and size of them and bought a couple of items last year but then the bug bit !!!
I continued finding items and only last week obtained a copy of the sixth edition TT catalogue and I realised with the items I had I could reproduce the illustration showing the locos.
So here it is with an additional SNCF pacific ( One has solid wheels and one spoked plus smoke unit) and the rare Continental 0-6-0 Tank loco.
And my version.
The item that started my TT collection was really this ---
It is a TT scale Union Pacific 8500HP Gas turbine model produced by the Swiss firm Wesa in about 1960 which is when the original turbines were made .
Why a Swiss firm who normally made continental prototype models should make this is a mystery !
It is made like a Swiss watch with two motors but for some reason Wesa locos have plastic wheels and a sprung pickup system which drags along the rails. All very strange.

Interesting post. I run TT, and have today just added a large flexi loop, about 25 foot. Have 5 locos , plus trucks, coaches. All peco flexi track.

One of a number of DCC installed (or ready) I have bought since Christmas Day is the Railroad version of the Flying Scotsman.
I put it on a test track a while ago and also a rolling road when I bought that - all worked fine.
Today when I placed it on the rolling road it didn't! Apparently in the intervening time I have managed to buckle one of the connecting rods and the wheels won't turn. The rod is bent both inwards against the wheel and upwards presumably from my attempts at getting it to run the motor worked for a short time.
It's the TTS installed version - so now I have the challenge of changing the rods. I did manage to find a supplier with them on Ebay although Peters Spares had none (it's relatively local and my preferred option for quick, one off bits.)
I did manage to 'run in' successfully another loco.

Unless they are completely mangled you may be able to gently ease the rods straight with a suitable lever.

The Hornby Collectors Club loco arrived at 7.30am this morning via DPD. It's already stashed away in the cupboard!
