Never forget playing a prank on passengers of my train just before the year 2000 came in. I was telling them they need to change to the new metric times.
We used to all have fun if we has the time as it made the journey more enjoyable.

In warships the operations room (and sometimes other areas) always operates in Zulu time (GMT). This provided consistency when talking or operating with forces around the world. As a ship sailed from the UK around the world and passed through time zones the ship would change to local time with the ops room remaining in Zulu. It could at times become very confusing

Zulu time was used by the RAF too. Not sure if that is still the case with all this political correctness we live with today.

No they have between 9 and 12 time zones depending what you read.

I have this thing with clocks and I still marvel at the 17th and 18th century technology of tension, escapement and pendulums. I have 5 mechanical clocks in our house. At least 2 I keep going. One is an old Ansonia, the other a repro of a big wheel, pinwheel escapement with pendulum. I have 3 Westclox from the 1930's.
Kids who come to our house including grandkids are fascinated. One was heard to say " is that a real tic toc?". You dont hear that in homes now

Clocks are wonderful things. We hav 3 pendulum clocks, two over 100 years old.

The last two I got are,all singing/dancing and correct themselves by MSF where-ever that is these days (used to be Rugby).
