Maltkiln Road/Ensbury Park
Here are some pics of my layout. It is still under construction.
Maltkiln Rd is the main part, set in the EWS era and named after the road I live off, down a small lane, only four hoses on it.
Ensbury Park is a preserved railway, is situated on the raised section, named after the suburb of Bournemouth I grew up in.
Since is pic was taken the long sidings and crossover has now been fully ballasted.

A bit of faffing about. The Sligo Rover wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 6:47 am How did you do the concrete and inset rails around your diesel depot please?
First off, I layed the track how I wanted to have it.
Then I cut some strips of hardboard I had lying around to the height I needed to make up the shuttering.
I fixed this in place, using some panel pins placed against the outside of the shuttering, using Masking tape
to keep in place, by putting the tape over the pins.
You will be faffing about to get the cutouts in the hardboard to fit over the rail.
Mixed up some polyfiller and then filled in the space inside the shuttering.
I leveled the top surface off, using a 12" ruler.
During the drying process I then scrapped the inside and top of the rail with an electrical screwdriver, I think I did this about three times.
Hey presto, you have a concrete area. When the polyfiller was set, I then I gave the top of the rail a clean with a track rubber.
This instantly gave a bit of weathering to the rail area.
Hope this helps.
Stuart

Here are a few more pics.
First off the transport cafe is under way.
The Aldi supermarket carpark, just needs bays marking, wall fixing in place and lampposts put in.
The TDM area, just built office accommodation, just not sure what to cover area with.
Lastly the finished retaining wall for the Ensbury Park track, with walk through to the supermarket area
I think that's it for the moment.

That is really coming together very well - lot of interesting detail to catch the eye....... quite a few man hours spent working to get it to this stage, but really nice results.

Re: Maltkiln Road/Ensbury Park
Bit of an update, I'll be doing nothing on layout for the next 5 days, Cricket.
This is the finished Adli supermarket bit, with parking markings done and lampposts in place.
The nine ft. brick wall is now in place, took me a week to do that bit.
The disabled parking bays were a bit of a faf.
This just shows entrance road to Aldi. Including yellow lines, got to have them, well, why not.
This shows the houses now built and in place, just a few finishing bits needed, chimney pots and back gardens.
This is a general over view, with lights switched on, they come up as white dots mostly.
I have also placed lights down the roadway between the houses and Haulage yard.
That's it for the moment. Keep safe everyone.

Are your buildings card kits or scratch built ? They look very good.
