That was a long shift......

#1

Post by Steve M »

Just finished giving statements to the police after I was thumped at work by an angry shoplifter.
Had to 'put him down' twice in the shop and again outside when he tried to resist arrest.
I do have a bit of a sore jaw though.

Yes thanks Brian, a bit sore that’s all. First time in four years that it’s happened - I must be getting slow. :D

Glad to hear your ok Steve. I hope when you put him down he went down hard! Barry

PS: Could say a lot more, but would probably be classed as being "not" politically correct!

When Steve said put him down I thought he meant the way vets do it. :D

I do wish I were allowed to use a veterinary bolt gun at times like that.
He was too ‘juiced up’ to feel anything but he may have a few bruises to show for it today.

Just been told he’s been charged with theft and common assault but bailed until 15/7. Bit of a surprise as he has only just been released from prison from his last assault conviction!

It probably represents the backlog of cases and workload due to the thing we're not allowed to discuss on here!

Glad you're OK Steve.
There was a robbery at a post office / general store near us during which one of the Shop Assistants was assaulted with an iron bar.

And it's quite a packed calendar for the next two months as well. Obviously we can't go to Silverstone this year but at least our tickets have already been rolled over to 2021. Some of the compromises put in to allow this year to go ahead could shake things up a bit. Tyre allocations are no longer a team choice and now dictated by Pirelli for example.

Oops, off topic.......must steer it back.......ordered a stab vest for work. :o
