New layout but no name yet

#1

Post by Bandit Mick »

Thought I’d try to document progress of a new layout. OO, micro-ish, dcc, early 50s maybe, run down seen better days, private siding occupied by small engineering works linked to wagon repair facilities, hinged fiddle yard for entry onto scenic section, tiny fiddle yard at other end - engine and wagon disappear off scene through wagon works doors, cold November day with heavy skies. So far have made boards, almost completed painted back scene sky, wire in tubes set up, ready to wire track. Pipe bridge over main fiddle yard planned as scenic break. Engine shed started but needs completing.

Three more photos showing further (slow) progress with my micro layout - main folding fiddle yard, the worlds smallest fiddle yard (possibly!) and simple under board wiring. The two naughty electrofrog points have been sent to bed with no tea and been replaced with insulfrogs which weirdly enough worked first time even with a crawling Peckett.

A bit more slow progress - rail sides painted, engine shed and wagon repair shed placed and ready for detailing, painting and weathering.

Looks excellent, the detail on the engine shed certainly captures the worn and tatty image.

will follow with interest
