I spotted a couple of errors. Maybe I am being pedantic but hey-ho here we go.

Third one down, N15 on 7 corridors at Herne Hill. The date is given as 1953 and the coach livery is given as BR green. Coaches in green at that date will be 'revarnished' SR green, almost certainly Bulleid Malachite, not BR. The BR Southern green did not appear until 1956 and all repaints after 1950 were in Crimson & Cream. However the Southern Region was deliberately slow in repainting its carriages, but simply painted out the old SR markings and 3rd class door numbers with left over stock of Malachite paint and painted BR lettering on to the green panels.

The picture of Port Line on the 'arrer' on page 5 is interesting. Although not mentioned in the caption the locomotive would have been in BR express blue with black & white lining. This short lived livery was quite striking when new would look rather fetching on a train of umber and cream Pullmans. I have a picture of one taken from a calendar some years ago framed and hung up at the top of our staircase.
I admire it every time I pass by.

On page 26 the rebuilt Merchant Navy has two identical sections but the picture is of Mr. Bulleid's peculiar Leader class. I wonder how soon it would be before one appears ready to run?

There are still some types I would like to see introduced for Southern enthusiasts, all Maunsell types. The L1 4-4-0, the U 2-6-0 and the W 2-6-4T. A Bullied 4Sub EMU would also be rather nice.

Not sure I would buy one, although there is curiosity value.

Only one (36001) actually steamed and ran trials. There were four more built or partly built but went to scrap fairly soon afterwards. Curiously the class 59 diesels looked remarkably like the Leader, shades of OVSB perhaps?

I have given up on the usual mags as they are full of what I call ‘cut and paste’ errors.
I did used to report them in but it was becoming a full time job so now they can get on with it - poor proof reading, if at all.
